The Lafourche Roping Club will host two rodeos this year. The first rodeo will be held May 17, 2008. This rodeo will be held to help benefit two local organizations, TARC and Free To Dream. Both these organizations help local handicap citizens. The second rodeo will be held on October 4, 2008. This rodeo will be held in conjunction to a fair which will take place on October 3rd, 4th, & 5th. Both of our rodeos will consist of quality rodeo stock brought to you from the Rockin R Rodeo which is located in Bayou Blue, Louisiana.
Buckin On The Bayou
This rodeo is scheduled on May 17, 2008. Buckin On The Bayou was originally started 3 years ago to help two local handicap organizations in our community, TARC & Free to Dream. A percentage of the proceeds is donated back to both of these organizations. Events for this rodeo will include: Bull Riding, Team Roping, Girls Open Barrel Racing, and sheep riding (7 & under). We will also have a calf scramble for childern 10 & under. Call in for this rodeo will be Monday May 12, 2008 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The number to enter will be 985-879-2601.
Fall Fair & Rodeo
This rodeo is scheduled for October 4, 2008. This is the 3rd year that we will be bring the fair and rodeo back to our community. Events for this rodeo will include: Bull Riding, Calf Roping, Girls Break-Away Roping, Team Roping, Girls Open Barrel Racing, and Sheep Riding (7 & under). We will also have a calf scramble for childern 10 & under. Call in for this rodeo will be Monday September 29, 2008 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The number to enter will be 985-879-2601.
